New Mexico State University Admissions
Applications to the undergraduate programs have an application fee of $15. In addition to the application form and fee, students must provide high school transcripts and ACT or SAT scores. High school minimum course requirements include four units of English, two units of science, three units of mathematics, and one unit of foreign language or fine arts. Applications can be submitted on-line. Students will generally be admitted to if they have a high school GPA of 2.5, or an ACT score of 21 (970 SAT), or a combination GPA of 2.0 and ACT composite score of at least 20.
Graduate students must provide the following for admissions to the graduate school: application and fee, transcripts, and any additional application materials, including test scores, required by the department. A graduate application has an application fee of $30. Graduate students must have a baccalaureate degree, and applicants to doctoral programs must have at least a grade point average of 3.0.
Admissions standards for first-time freshmen include a cumulative high school grade point average of 2.50 or above, or a composite ACT standardized test score of 21 (970 SAT test equivalent), or a high school grade point average of at least 2.00 or above and a composite ACT standardized test score of at least 20 (930 SAT test equivalent). Alternative admissions requirements include include a cumulative high school grade point average of 2.25 and an ACT composite test score of 20 (930 SAT test equivalent). Applicants must have completed the minimum high school requirements of 4 units of English, 2 units of science, 3 units of mathematics, and 1 unit of foreign language or fine arts.
